33rd Annual Indian Music and Dance Competition

Welcome to the Annual Indian Music and Dance competition! This annual three-day long competition has been successfully run for the past 32 years, and is one of the largest competitions of its kind outside of India! The competition has drawn competitors and fans from all throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, and Europe. Though it is technically a competition, you will find an atmosphere of comraderie, learning, and support from a great number of music students, their families, and music lovers!

Please plan ahead and register before as soon as registration opens on September 1st 2016.  Due to the overwhelming response we receive each year, we unfortunately have to deny participants who register late.  We look forward to seeing every one of you.  In the mean time, check out the competition website and enjoy the pictures from previous competitions.

Riyaz: Workshop and Concert

There is a saying that practice makes man perfect. Indian Classical Music is all about practicing. It is formally called Riyaz in Classical Music. If you want to pursue the peak level in Classical Music, Riyaz is a must. There is a particular way to do Riyaz that most students and beginners don't know. The goal of this workshop is to teach/educate you and provide you with the tools to make you an outstanding musician.

The concert begins with the debut performance of Mathew Poovan (Sitar) accompanied by Souvik Ghosh (Tabla) and continues with classical and light trio performances by Maestros Deepak Ram (Bansuri) - disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Indradeep Ghosh (Violin), and Hidayat Khan (Sitar)- son and disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan accompanied by Enayet Hossain (Tabla).
